If a dispute arises between a participant in the professional traineeship and his mentor, the Architects Registration Bureau, in response to a verbal or written request from the party that is first to take action, can mediate or offer advice in the dispute. That party will often be the participant in the professional traineeship, though it may also be the mentor. A written request for mediation should contain:
a. the name of the individual taking the professional traineeship and of the mentor
b. the date
c. a specification of the dispute.
Mediation is conducted in an impartial manner according to the principle of the right to a fair hearing and with the aim of settling the dispute. The Architects Registration Bureau can appoint an individual or Conciliation Committee to mediate or offer advice in the dispute. All mediation or advice is subject to the Mediation Regulation of the Architects Registration Bureau.
